Into The Woods, Sondheim and Lapine’s landmark fairytale musical is wowing audiences at The Bridge Theatre in London until 30 May. Directed by Jordan Fein with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, this acclaimed production brings the tale to life with a festival of design, creativity and technical magic. This is the story of many things: including beautiful realisation of a world of both glorious light and darkness in which the fairytale unfolds, a sense of subtly textured realism and dramatic unseen threat, and where technical and creative elements themselves take on the role of one of the story’s main characters.
I loved this production - it delivers some truly unforgettable theatrical moments. And I loved even more speaking with Sound Designer Adam Fisher, Lighting Designer Aideen Malone, and Video Designer Roland Horvath to hear the story behind it. It was a joy. A huge thank you to them and to Ellie at Storyhouse for making it happen!
